MATRIX, the student association of the Department of Mathematics started in 2008 and since then has played a pivotal role in increasing student activities in the department. It includes undergraduate (B. Tech) students of Mathematics and Computing, Post Graduate(M.Sc.) students of Mathematics and Computing, Research Scholars and all the faculty members of the department.

It aims to provide a platform for student-faculty interaction and increased involvement of students in the department.

MATRIX frequently conducts seminars and guest lectures on various areas related to mathematics and finance. This year the Department and MATRIX came up successfully with the first edition of DIMENSION-a technical confluence.

Currently we have 192 members including 107 B.Tech, 54 M.Sc. students and 31 Research Scholars. In addition we also have 24 faculty members as a part of MATRIX. The council of MATRIX is headed by a faculty advisor and President. HOD (Head of Department) of the Department is assigned as Ex-Officio of MATRIX. Executive Council also includes secretaries and batch representatives.

MATRIX endeavours to be an active organization in promoting the career interests of students.
